Director’s notes:
One of my favorite parts of Christmas is observing the German traditions of my husband's family: gathering around the Christmas tree, lighting the advent candle, singing German carols, opening gifts and sharing the nativity story on Christmas Eve (not to mention the butter almond stollen and marzipan!). It is easy to forget that the celebration of Christmas is not merely an American national holiday, but rather a global celebration! There are people all over the world who look, speak and observe customs differently than we do, but all of us with the same goal... to not only anticipate, but also celebrate the birthday of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! How it must make our Heavenly Father smile as He observes His unique tapestry... His beautiful children...EVERY race, tribe, tongue and nation... A beautiful mosaic of God's boundless creativity! Let us be inspired this year as we imagine all peoples scattered across this world united in one concert, singing, "Happy Birthday to the King!"
Blessings to all and Merry Christmas!
Mrs. Blackert
